Self Improvement Books - MISS THE MARK!

I had a problem, a HUGE problem, for which self-improvement was my chosen distraction, my poison if you will to keep me from the deeper cause of believing the self needed improving in the first place!

I'm here to have a very real conversation with you, one that I hope will put you squarely back ON track for you to know the fulfilment that you truly seek ASAP, saving you years, decades, perhaps even lifetimes. We can learn from each other, if we're teachable & this is for those who are ready for Ultimate Reality, the grandest prize of Life, Self-Transcendence in Absolute Liberated Self-Realization. And I'm not talking about a person here, but the Truth you CAN know in Being, not the lesser phenomenal activity of thinking/wishing/hoping.

Read on if you want to know the Truth of your Inherent Perfection in Creation NOW & to Awaken from the illusion of being something you are not. This is the direct & fast path out of the dream of the world where suffering, lack, limitation, struggle, wanting & death appear possible, but actually aren't at all, they're imagined. This is the 'way' home to the Peace that passeth understanding, REAL peace of mind & happiness without conditions.

This is NOT for the squirmish, this is for those who are sound of mind & are willing & ready to take FULL responsibility for their state of mind (not many in other words). Mind is Life in every possible way. We're going Quantum Beloved, that's where the Truth lies, not in the realm of perceived objects. There is no objective world & science has told us that talk of an objective world is simply theory; it's Truth bombs away time!

You see I was always driven to succeed, achieving my personal goals, ticking items off my elaborate vision boards, raising the bar higher & higher & higher. I trained myself to 'do' like a pro, to just get it done, whatever was required to establish a better Life, to continually improve. A successful entrepreneur with decades of accomplishment & evidence of 'assets', the Jones' were the ones lagging behind!

It was the day I made my first 100K in 24 hours that I had the most profound revelation (ie shock), that changed the game entirely & like a kid playing pin the tail on the donkey, I was spun the right way, ON course for what I was really looking for, the deepest 'heart' yearning. I had expected to feel raised up, elated as if I'd WON! But I didn't. I felt empty, as if I'd ordered the last meal with precisely what I wanted to eat but it tasted like cardboard. Let me explain.

I saw in an instant that I had valued, ruthlessly chased & relentlessly pursued the valueless. ALL of the material (everything in the realm of form) success that I'd invested decades of self-improvement in, reading the best of the self improvement books I could get my hands on, studying to the level of mastery the methods for worldly success from the masters all over the globe to glean the 'secret', all of it was pointless, leading nowhere.

My world literally flashed before my eyes, nde (near death experience) style & somehow I was taken into the future where it was clear that the sense of 'me' persists, regardless of the world I seem to see/make & the changing scenery along the way. It was as if my world changed over night, which is actually what I had been praying for. If the world of self improvement & 'helping others' didn't really offer soul & heart fulfilment, what does?

Some might call this the dark night of the soul, let's not get dramatic, ego (the mask of persona that doesn't exist) loves the distraction of drama! What I noticed was the deeper message behind the discomfort of having 'seen' that I'd lived a lie. A lie than conformed with the world's idea of success to the letter (near enough - I could only have 1 child not 2.5), yet was empty! Behind that was a Light, as dim as it seemed then, THAT'S where I was headed!

My prayer was answered, just not in the way that I had expected. I was about to see expectations, wants, desires & in fact perception in its entirety in an whole new way. One that led me 'home', one Miracle after another, to realize the present moment Perfection of Being, Peace, Happiness, Joy & TRUE Abundance without worldly comparison. I'm sharing this because this is Reality, & every 'struggle' we seem to experience is NOT! This is True for all, not just 'special' ones because we're the same One.

Let's go deeper! I was living a life inspired for decades by Rumi quotes, specifically:

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

In fact at the core of my functional medicine & naturopathic practice I was driven by the question "what's behind that?" Keeping me always at the cutting edge of my profession until I went beyond it altogether, having discovered the unreality of bodies; there's not much point 'treating' something that doesn't exist is there.

If you're here reading this you're no dummy, you're not playing at the superficial level, you're actually looking for the same thing I was, that we all are, only very few really want to hear. I want to show you how to transcend those barriers of non-existent person-hood FAST! So you can know your Self as the Light of the world & lead the way in True Service. As Ramana Maharshi said, the greatest service we can offer 'humanity' is Self-Realization.

This is whistle blowing of the highest order! The world is a distraction that perpetuates suffering & does not nor cannot deliver the goods that IS what we truly seek. My consulting practice (no longer treating bodies but igniting the Truth of Spirit) is filled, actually overflowing with more than we can manage, with elite self improvement junkies who have slayed the world, ticked off their veritable bucket list of stuff to get/do/have & find themselves Spiritually bereft, just full of ideas built on an impossible concept of a personal self. Without the sense of person-hood, there's not a care in the world. Look & you WILL see.

These are truly troubled folk at the peak of self-actualization, noticing the emptiness that I too had noticed years earlier, mired in shame & embarrassment. Facing the same turning point of realizing that despite the best doing they seem to be capable of, there's still doubt, fulfilment isn't permeating every breath, abundance seems conditional, upset still arises, death is still down the track & peace is a rollercoaster based on the barometer of the world. I often say that the supremely privileged according to the world's completely biased measure of judged opposites are suffering the worst. If you're one of the highly successful suffering, please know that you're NOT alone, not even close. You're actually part of a growing segment of dreamers. THIS IS NOT LIFE! Actually the world is the realm of the dying, of all things entropy; decaying! A glamourous smoke & mirrors trick that has had you playing a game so infinitely small & deadly but we're just too little self centred to even see what is blindingly apparent when we actually apply inquiry & question our perspective. Basically, we've all fallen asleep in a dream. Rather than take action in a dream, the solution is to Awaken. The choice is yours to make & your choice will never be denied you.

As Alan Watts delightfully said in summary here: you play a game of pretending to be something you're not, & when you decide to wake up, you will!

It's really that simple, you decide what you want & you always get what you have your eyes on. You always get what you value. Unfortunately, those under the spell of person-hood, value the valueless & we just don't get shown how to Awaken.

We suffer from a lack of contextual awareness, a fundamental issue of knowledge limitation, it's time that changed because self improvement is the greatest deception there has ever been! Why? There is no personal self! BUT when we look through the eyes of personal perception, we see a world that is split, fragmented, the very definition of multiplicity & we think we're faced with myriad choices in a realm of opposites. When vision is restored in integrity there is ONLY One, Wholeness, Unity, Love without opposites, Heaven or Nirvana as it is known.

Let's back track a little so that you walk away from this conversation with clarity about precisely WHERE your Highest Happiness is to be found, because it's right under your nose, where it's always been, completely untouched by the world you see or have perceived at any apparent time; past, present, future, previous lifetimes or ever!

I mentioned that the sense of 'me' went with me into that mystical revelation. It was like a stage production spot light shone down on that single idea & everything else blurred into insignificance.

I suddenly became super duper curious about that 'me'. For some years I'd been studying a variety of Spiritual teachings particularly Vedanta, engaged in Ministerial studies for "A Course in Miracles" to attain ordination (my addiction to study - intellect - was severe). I was well on the path, & had been for decades, to fill my thinking with positive psychology & be the best person I could be. I too was deluded by the idea that I was a Spiritual person, an impossible misnomer!

The question that had been silently leading me directly to this joyous revelation, both Rumi quotes & that question that spurred my career whose origin was once mysterious, "what's behind that", gave me the clarity of direction & purpose that led me 'home'. The 'me' I'd assumed & accepted without question was under the spotlight & the most glorious journey of discovery unfolded, leading me to the pot of TRUE gold that makes worldly achievement, attainment & acquisition pale into nothingness.

The little assumed personal 'me' & the core Awareness of "I" Being were not the same, one is True & the other not (merely imagined or dreamed), not even related. There was nothing personal about the 'me' that could be observed (that's another Mystical revelation for another day). There is no self to be improved. The "I" that lies deeper, Pristine, Innocent, Fulfilled, Whole & Complete Eternally is right here & now. Not a condition in sight. Worthiness of 'this' Divine Reality is what we struggle with, because our addiction to guilt is epically strong for having accepted the erroneous yet mortal idea of separation that is the switch for the imaginary show of the world.

Behind the conundrum of the world, of the experience of a 'me' is the acceptance of an impossible idea of separation, a self concept. When this is dissolved, the false is filtered out & the mind is purified, the Truth of Essential Being is organically revealed.

What "I" am can be seen in the absence of what I have erroneously (oops) believed myself to be & thus mistakenly acted upon that misperception. Having accepted a 'me' person & personal reality, the only answer looks like self improvement. But it isn't.

To attempt to improve an imaginary self, leaves the Reality of Grace veiled. An actor is just acting right, regardless of the script? The fact that there is NO personal self makes ALL self improvement redundant, in fact unhelpful distracting delaying nonsense. Do you want to pretend or KNOW the real deal?

Unless you're addressing the deepest level, you're already in the realm of symptoms & the idea of a person is a symptom. Another way to say this is that the idea of being someone is like a pimple & you can dress that pimple up anyway you like but it's still a pimple! What's behind that is the question that will serve you to go beyond the realm of the little kindergarten game of dressing up pimples, into the Grace of Divine Oneness.

The Self that you know as "I" is indescribably Perfect & Pristine, Infinite & Limitless, not to be understood intellectually but experienced as KNOWN. The Truth has nothing to do with belief as it happens, it is beyond belief. That's why it's the Truth, rather than a debate of opposites in an imaginary world of separation.

The decision comes down to this, what do you really want? To dream an impossible dream of person-hood under the deception of separation, or Awaken to Grace?
